Collection: Silver Hoops, Black

Handcrafted one pair at a time in my Pacific Northwest studio, these black sterling silver hoop earrings are made from solid 925 sterling silver — hand hammered to create heirloom quality hoops with subtle surface variation that can't be replicated by machine.

The deep charcoal black finish is achieved through a traditional sulfur patina process — the same natural oxidation that occurs when silver is exposed to air and sulfur over time, accelerated in a hot sulfur bath. The result is a rich, matte black that highlights the hammered texture and gives each pair a distinct, organic character. A light finishing coat of cacao butter seals and protects the surface.

With over 30 years of metalsmithing experience and a BFA in Metal Design from the University of Washington, I design for longevity — every pair is made from post-consumer content recycled sterling silver sourced from fair labor suppliers in the USA.

Caring for your black hoops: Avoid excessive rubbing of the surface with your hands, and remove before bathing, swimming, or exposure to body products, salt, or chlorine. If the patina fades over time, it can be fully restored with another sulfur bath.
